A different road trip: The Deep South

Originally posted in April 2014, as part of the Deep South Series

I would imagine you’ve encountered this on more than one occasion: being in one of those absolutely amazingly fantastic situations that make you feel all fuzzy and happy inside. Yes, those that are so wonderful, yet so difficult to explain or describe to others. The vast majority of the trip was exactly like that: unpredictable. My only frustration today is that I am completely unable to fully share the experience when k write about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I love telling you about our trips and writing about it, it’s a nice way to reflect on those moments and take some learnings. I also love rereading them, being taken back to those moments in time… And, let’s face it, it would be virtually impossible to remember so many details had I not written about the trips in advance.

Anyway, as I was saying all trips can have truly unpredictable moments, such as being booked out on the first night of your honeymoon… Particularly when they already knew.

This road trip started in Atlanta, where we spent 2 nights, to then go around some of the destinations around the southern states for 14 days (4,557 Kms!). The destinations were the below:

Atlanta, Georgia

Charleston, South Carolina

Savannah, Georgia

Mobile, Alabama – pit stop only

New Orleans , Louisiana

Vicksburg, Mississippi

Memphis, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee
